The Mercadal Quarter, located within the ancient walls of medieval city was the first industrial heartland of Girona. Spaces obtained by the shooting down of factories, were fluffy and urbanized with the squares of la Constitució, Santa Susanna and Josep Pla, and, beyond that, la Independència, also called Saint Augustine. Some of the main shopping streets of Girona can be found in this area, known as "Zona Comercial".

The proximity to the historical center and the Old Town, which separates it from a bridge, de les "Peixateries Velles", built by the Eiffel company, makes the pedestrian and quiet environment, a great space for walking, shopping and entertainment, while a great platform to go and visit the historical Girona and the monuments.
