    The Chinese New Year holiday, known in China as the Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese calendar.

    Based on the lunisolar calendar used traditionally in China, the festivities begin the first day of first lunar month and end on the fifteenth day, when they celebrate the Lantern Festival.

    This year begins on 14 February 2010 until 3 February 2011, the next, and corresponds to year of the Tiger.

    One of the traditions of the holiday is called "red envelope" (hong bao), also called Lai See, that is to give to children or younger relatives, and wish good luck red envelope with a small money.
